When I found this gem of a RPO concept I almost couldn’t believe my eyes.
As with most RPOs, when you watch one executed in a game situation, it may look quite boring.
Maybe the offense runs the ball for a medium gain of 5-7 yards. Big deal right?
But when you break it down and take a much closer look, you realize that if the defense played it any other way, it would be a touchdown or big play.
That’s what’s happening in this play. A simple shovel pass that goes for 7 yds.
But if the defensive end squeezes…the QB will continue to sprint out and take advantage of his numbers in the passing concept.
