If you are an inside zone team, you know that you don’t always get the pretty looks that every coach likes to draw up.

Defenses know that the best way to mess up your count system or double teams is to stunt and blitz and sometimes will even do it all game long.

This can be a nightmare for your offensive line if you don’t have a plan and can’t sort them out.

That’s why I love what I learned in this short video from Ohio State’s Offensive Line Coach Greg Studrawa.

Coach Studrawa shares that 62% of the time they don’t get those easy looks and it’s critical they have a plan for it.

In the clip above, Ohio State runs an inside zone play they call Binder.

In this look, the defense has two 3 techniques.

Because something is up with what the Center is seeing, he makes a call to put the defense on Tracks.

The technique is simple because it now means the technique is to take a zone step, shuffle and then drive.

There is no combo called, just take your zone step and then drive into the man who shows.
