“What should I be doing in the Red Zone?”

Every coach wants to know the answer to this one and a good way to figure it out is to study how the best handle it.

Tradition holds that you should put in extra TE’s and ram the ball down their throats for 4 downs hoping that your guys are better then their guys.

In practice, this is how most coaches handle this. And defensive coordinators are not blind to that strategy, which is why they dial up blitzes and Red Zone coverages.

Keep doing this and you risk getting stopped in a goal line stand. That’s huge momentum for their sideline now.
