Do you wish your team could play with more confidence on offense?

Boy I did for many years…

…until I found the solution was to create a system that fits our personnel every single year.

No matter what we have in the talent pool, we don’t have to change it up and start all over again.

I’m not going to promise you State Championships and Undefeated Seasons like some other systems do.

But I will guarantee that you will know with confidence that you are running a system that best fits your player’s abilities every single year.

And that will win you games you probably shouldn’t win and give your players the confidence they need to accomplish their goals each season.

Here’s how:

Be friggin laser focused on getting really, really, really, really good at a few core plays. (No Really!)Here’s how:

By not getting paralyzed with difficult game plans you will end up spending less time game planning.

Eventually teams you see will run the same defensive looks you have seen before. So you already know what to do offensively. Then you have time to add in all sorts of fun wrinkles that will keep them guessing.

And then there were some games I called the same play 8 times out of 10 plays.

Why?

Because we were so efficient at execution, the defense couldn’t stop it.

That’s what I call the Pro Style Spread Offense. It’s learning to execute to perfection against anything the defense throws at you.

So what is it Bro?

It is a combination of an old school power running game with the modern spread offense.

There are a few key elements here that are required, but the great thing about this offense is that the range of how modern or traditional you want to be, is totally up to you.

Formations vary from the Traditional I to the Modern Spread. A shotgun snap is essential but does not sacrifice a powerful downhill run game.

The Quarterback is in a much better position for Play Actions, Sprint Outs, Pass Drops, and even Fly and Jet Sweeps.

One base formations is the Pistol I. Here you can see Ohio State utilizing it under Urban Meyer.

Notice this two back formation with the spread offense shotgun QB? They have also split out their Tight End to further extend the defense.

With just 6 players in the box by Penn State’s defense, it’s a great look to run Power, Iso, or if you have the personnel, a mobile Quarterback who can run option.

You can also be more modern and utilize the 2 x 2 and 3 x 1 spread formations.

At any point, when you want to line up and run the ball, you always have your running formations and when you need to throw it, you have your passing formations.

With today’s new focus on RPO’s if your Quarterback can’t run, have him read a Linebacker and either give or throw the ball based on movement. The Pro Style Spread Offense is RPO ready.

Just don’t start with those unless you know what you’re getting into. (KISS principle)

We’re gonna run it and run it good.

The good old traditional Power, Iso, Counter, and Toss are all easily adaptable to each formation. These are the four basic run plays that are called the Core Runs.

  • They can be installed at any level and are simple to teach and execute.
  • They all rely on getting the ball in the hands of your top athletes every play.
  • The plan is simple and has been proven effective by many teams over the years.

Take a look now at how these are implemented into the offense in the sample base formation.

Right now you can see that if you have a stud H back, then you are set. But what if you don’t? And what if your Quarterback can run?

Let’s look at what you can do with your personnel next.

My Jimmies and Joes are better in their positions then those.

What kind of an athlete is your QB? Can he run or throw or both?

Either way, you can build a great game plan just for him. He can be confident and successful at whatever he does best. If he’s a thrower, then running the spread formations for the pass and screen game will be perfect. He will also love play actions out of your core run game.

If he’s a runner and a passer, then using the QB for jet sweeps, counters and options will fit him perfectly. Find what your team’s strengths are and build on them. Keeping it simple allows players to play aggressive and fast.

I can’t stand it when I hear coaches say they are in trouble because they don’t have a Quarterback who can do it all.

Don’t make excuses, make plays work for who you have. There are too many possibilities in football. Go find ones that work and I’ll show you ones that you can use with any kind of Quarterback.

The Pro Style Spread Offense System can work with your personnel and doesn’t take too much effort to learn for you or your players.

Even if your team isn’t running it, you there’s a lot you can learn in the strategy behind it.

Know this…

…everything behind this offense is built from sound football principles I’ve learned from over 16 years of coaching.

How can you learn more without breaking the bank? (Hint: You don’t need a $1,000 system to learn this.)
