This week we shifted gears after seeing an odd front (3-4) all last week to a team that runs a more traditional even front (4-3). I always love running plays against the 4-3 because the Gap defenders are pretty consistent and rarely slant or angle. When we have a tight end it is great for Power and our line knows they will get the 3 technique Tackle and shade or 1 technique Nose. The big concern though is making sure we pick up linebackers who flow or blitz. Against a team that blitzes a lot we make a simple "Down" call when LB's show putting all our playside line on a man down inside. With the FB kicking out and the backside Guard pulling around we should have a hat on everybody and break the power run into the secondary for a big gain. If LB's are really good at flowing we have to make sure that our Double teams know exactly who they are spying and can come off and pick their LB up when he flows into a window towards the back.
